As of February 15, 2012 the last of the Food Lion Supermarkets in Volusia and Flagler County will be closed.  The last Flagler Beach store on Route 100 closed in 2009.  In addition to the Ormond Beach store at 101 E. Granada, stores in New Smyrna Beach and Port Orange are also closing.   There were a total of 8 stores in the Volusia and Flagler market at one time.  After February 15, 2012 there will be none.  The Food Lion chain is owned by a Brussels, Belgium based company who has indicated the need to close underperforming locations.

The 26th annual Flagler Home and Lifestyle Show will have businesses presenting their products and services indoors and outdoors. Categories of product and services include entertainment, arts, health and food. There will be a variety of booths with the finest in home manufactured and décor as well as health benefit products.
The event is scheduled for January 28th and 29th, 2012 at the Flagler palm coast high school campus on route 100 from 9am to 4pm.
Hundreds of local businesses will be show casing their goods and services. You will also find local artist with hand made items, a food court with lots of local goodies, a health fair with free screening and lectures and lots of great entertainment while you browse.
Admission is free and their will be lots of free parking.

Bicentennial Park in Ormond By Sea, Florida Renamed

Bicentennial Park in Ormond By The Sea, Florida has be renamed Michael Crotty Bicentennial Park.  Mr. Crotty, a lifelong area resident and attorney died in an automobile crash last year.  He worked tirelessly with many area charities and youth organizations.  He graduated from Father Lopez High School and Stetson Law School.   The County Council voted unanimously to rename the park in honor of Mr. Crotty.

Bicentennial Park is located at 1800 Ocean Shore Blvd., Ormond Beach Florida and is open daily from sunrise to sunset.
